Who We Are

Dideh was started with the main goal of educating and teaching people about the rich heritage and art of Persia. We’re not a single entity – we’re a community – filled with vibrant writers, researchers and enthusiasts of the Persian arts.

From architecture to motifs and paintings – the Persian style is one to be adored.

Persia, as many of you know, has one of the richest heritages of art in the world. Our community of enthusiasts at Dideh delves into these arts to learn about the past, and we also explore the arts, from ancient dynasties to modern day Iran.

The Persian empire was innovative, and many art forms and media were a result of this innovation:

  • Architecture
  • Calligraphy
  • Metalworking
  • Painting
  • Pottery
  • Sculpture
  • Weaving

Persian art has been heavily influenced from Alexander the Great to the Qajar Dynasty. And this is what we thrive on: looking into the beauty and influence of Persia’s past, present and future.

A culture so rich deserves its own community. Education and preservation are our main goals.

And as educators, we try to bring forth information from Persia’s ancient past and recent past. Persia, present day Iran, is still an art hub today. Not only can you see majestic paintings in museums, but you can go to markets to buy vibrant rugs, paintings, jewelry and a variety of other art.

Persian rugs, for example, are an art form all of their own and are some of the world’s most highly sought carpets.

Dideh drudges up the past in a fun and exciting way to explore the Persian heritage from the eyes of several to form a community. We breathe life into the time of Xerxes and Alexander the Great in a way that educates and explores architecture, art and beauty.

Join our community, and let’s preserve Persia together.
