In poetry the Persian word Dideh is used to mean the eye, the look, the emissary. If you take a closer look at the lotus flower of our logo, an ancient Persian symbol of world harmony, you will see a line drawing of a boy: our emissary, who opens for the international art-loving public the window to Iranian art.

Dideh-Iranian Fine Art is a virtual art gallery that in a unique and original way opens for you a window: a window to a blaze of colors, a purity of line, to love and to courage. Gallery Dideh presents a varied and extensive selection of contemporary artistic masterpieces. The world of Iranian art is explored in English and in the Persian language in Dideh’s comprehensive information sections, such as the artists’ biographies, written by Ali Asghar Gharebaghi, one of the most famous Iranian art historians; Art Talk, a column exploring Iranian art; and Art Dialogue, which publishes art lovers’ questions, followed by informed answers by the artists or art specialists in Iran.

We - Daniela Hekmat, German, and Sophie Hekmat, French - founded Dideh-Iranian Fine Art in Munich in 1998. Both of us are art lovers who have completed a university degree in business administration. Being married to two Iranian brothers, we travel regularly to Iran and have found there a different picture than the one usually portrayed in the West. This was enough reason for us to bring Dideh-Iranian Fine Art to life.Putting together all this information and visual material and developing a structure to facilitate acquiring these masterpieces globally has not been easy; it has been a painstaking job in which the gallery takes pride. All the paintings and artists were chosen personally, with care and with such standards as novelty of ideas, technical mastery, creativity and originality in mind. The choice of paintings to be shown was the result of many hours of preparation and discussion with the artists. We hope that the publication of these selected works will encourage the flourishing of contemporary Iranian painting. We call on you, the art lover, to support this cause and the international recognition of our painters.
